At time of writing, six Labour councillors from Norwich have now resigned from the Party. In a statement accompanying their resignation, the four councillors from Town Close said that they no longer felt the local or national Labour Party aligned with their principles.
David said:
"I'm concerned for residents that the City Council is left without leadership as a result of Labour infighting. I already hear concerns from residents about the service they get from the Labour-led council. Now it looks as though things are getting worse.
I feel especially for those council tenants who are caught up in the huge repairs backlog, and who are now wondering what impact this will have on their home as we move into winter.
Nationally, Labour seem to say one thing and do another. Now even their own councillors are realising that, and quitting in protest.
If these councillors no longer stand for the principles of the party under which they were elected then they should do the right thing and stand down."
